A new project has been created which contains a simple sample for how to to develop a 'native' XPages control via the Java extensibility API. This control can be deployed globally as an OSGi bundle/plugin to Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes/Domino Designer and then used in all NSFs without having to put the code in all NSFs redundantely. The new control shows up in the palette in Designer as other out of the box controls:
The project contains the same control with the exact same functionality also as custom XPages control implemented via Domino Designer and JavaScript so that you can see how to map features like properties from a custom control to a native control.

Develop custom REST Services for XWork Server using Apache Wink

Extension Library. Developers
can now write their own REST services for IBM Lotus Domino and IBM XWork
Server using the open source project Apache
Wink.

module and a Client module for developing and consuming RESTful Web services."

of XPages developers. One type
of developers are Java developers who use the Eclipse IDE to build their
own extension libraries which can be deployed as OSGi bundles globally
to Domino servers. While this is not as easy as building apps and controls
with Designer it provides more capabilities and allows easy usage in multiple
databases.
