Note to IBM, make the Support teams have some logo, nothing on the IBM site for it that i could find. Even an orange circle with an H inside would be nice. Many years ago they were the best when you needed help. Sometimes one gets away from you. This must be Quickr's for R8.1. I received this after converting a Quickr server from using LDAP as it's Directory to Domino as it's Directory. Remember to revert any changes in the qpconfig.xml for LDAP when doing this. Evidently there are some hard coded references to LDAP or Domino Directory int he Main.nsf that must get touched (or reinstalled). About a year ago, just before R8 came out, IBM made this announcement: More than 93 percent of Lotus Notes customers are using the most recent two releases So presumably almost everyone was on R6(which came out in 2003) and R7 and this perhaps ONLY included those paying for maintenance or support. My luck I know the 7% on R5 but moved them to R7 and R8 this year. Anyway, Microsoft in contrast, has about 25% or more still on Exchange 2000 which is now 2 revisions back. So Abbott & Costello(not client's real name) have a Domino network which will now be using Lotus Quickr. SSL and Quickr Using Network Solutions

Chrome + Lotus Webmail (iNotes), Works Fine

FatGuppy on Twitter and some other people have been ranting the Lotus Noets Client for webmail, sometimes referred to as iNotes or Domino Web Access, doesn't work. This is far from the truth. In accessing my server via the Google "front end client" browser, Chrome, all is well. Now we have an R8.0.1 server and an 8.0.2 server in cluster. Spam has attacked my Drafts Folder - Help

Needless to say this is a bit annoying, and odd. Although we use Spam Sentinel for our personal email(imap/pop3), and Digitar on the corporate side AND Spam Sentinel I am seeing some strange items. First noticed about a month or 2 but now is more than 1-2 emails a day. The 2 Priorities: 1) My personal email, multiple accounts, has been showing spam messages in my drafts folder which appear to be bypassing the inbox entirely. It seems my hotel which I have stayed at the last few years, and has always had excellent Wi-FI and very low rates, went WAY upscale. Yes, I'm talking to you, Best Western. Not funny that a room rate 50% higher than last year is available...as the cheapest option! And who decided a Sunday stay should get $45 MORE compared to the other nights? Domino 8.0.2 AIX Upgrade, 10 minutes

In my previous AIX Upgrade post although it was a great guideline to follow, I see it needs some clarifications. In doing my 802 Lotus Domino upgrade on my AIX server, a dual partition server I might add, I followed my notes. But I was vague on some parts. The Domino file, now known as C1K3AEN for the 32 bit version, MUST be in the /opt/lotus directory if you want it to install properly. Lotus Quickr HF19 and read the instructions, for help

Like many of us we appreciate it when our administrative life is made easier by the vendor. Lotus has put out a recent update to Quickr and it has an automated installer. Excellent, right? Well, let's just say my server failed 2 of the 3 prerequisites. BES 4.1.6 further update on Domino Conflicts

Happy Yellow Day to all! In a previous post from July 29th I discussed the work around to resolving the broken Traveler and Sametime. What you don't know is the details about it. Yes the INI setting is the problem. It basically stops all servlets. RIM informed me they would document the change in noets.ini and warn people about it. Lotus Notes Traveler and BES 4.1.6 Resolution

After some discussions with RIM and IBM, the good people at IBM support, thanks to Steven Kyle who handled my PMR, were able to recreate the problem on a test server. It seems the installation of BES 4.1.6 alters the notes.ini file Lotus Notes Traveler has two components, a Server and an HTTP Servlet. The Server communicates with the users mail servers, stores history information etc and the HTTP Servlet communicates with the devices. BES 4.1.6 upgrade may break Lotus Notes Traveler

A technical posting, ask for help and others who have this setup and it works or doesn't work. If like many small companies you run a Domino server and it also hosts BES and traveler, you may have a problem. We upgraded a BES to 416 from 415 this morning and since then Traveler has stopped. It is running on the server fine, but the clients can't connect, error 36 usually. Something has affected the servlet engine and Traveler clients can not connect to the server.
