I just heard about the Balsamiq Mockups application on the net@night podcast. This looks like a great prototyping application for developers and business people. Elguji has been a GotoMeeting customer for almost a year now and we have truly come to rely on this cost effective web meeting service for customer demos as well as customer support. One of the things that has been missing from the service has been the ability to share a Mac OS X screen and in my specific case - a Keynote presentation. On Thursday and Friday I decided to connect my Quickr 8.1 installation to our Active Directory and initially ran into some problems. Quickr gives you the option from the Web UI to select an LDAP source for user authentication. So silly me thought that I could simply set this up, fill in the appropriate LDAP fields and away I would be authenticating. No go. Very strange issue with a Domino Server cluster running V7 and V8

We have a database that lives on a Domino cluster. The cluster contains three servers HQ1 (V7.0.3), HQ2 (v8.0.2) and HQ3 (V7.0.3). Everything is working as expected on the HQ2 (the Domino 8) server however views on the R7 servers are not showing certain records. It appears that if you edit and resave the document it will then show up in the views. The documents are all in the database but just not being displayed in the views on R7 servers

48 hours with iNotes Ultralite for the iPhone

This past weekend I had the opportunity to setup and use the new Lotus iNotes Ultralite on my iPhone. The only thing that needed configuration on my Lotus Domino 8.0.2 server was to setup and configure the Domino Web Access Redirect database and to create a Login form mapping in the Domino Coniguration database (domcfg.nsf). I am a casual user of Notes mail and use it for Elguji work and nothing more. Overall "it works" and is nice to have as a casual mail client.

Approaching five years

This December will mark five years since Danielle passed away. It was at this time of the year when Dani's brain tumor started to really affect her. It first began with seizures at school which resulted in EMT/ambulance calls. Many people didn't know that Dani did attend school which she enjoyed very much. Here at work many of my co-workers have children that were in Dani's class. Many of the kids remember many Dani very well and I am happy to hear that she made a lasting impact on their lives.

Help with Sametime Gateway

A small local company that uses Lotus products has the need to connect their Sametime users with Yahoo IM users. This customer also has a legal requirment to log all of the chat transcripts that flow through the Sametime Gateway. The LDD Wikis

Over the last year the folks over at the Lotus developerWorks have created wikis for many of the Lotus products including IBM Composite Applications, IBM Mashup Center, Lotus Connections, Lotus Domino, Lotus Domino Designer, Lotus Notes, Lotus Quickr and others. Earch wiki has an RSS feed, allows you to post and edit articles, search by category as well as submitting comments.

jQuery to ship with ASP.net MVC and Visual Studio

Microsoft is going to make jQuery part of the official dev platform. JQuery will come with Visual Studio in the long term, and in the short term it'll ship with ASP.NET MVC. We'll also ship a version includes Intellisense in Visual Studio.

What - no Composite Applicaitons sessions submitted

This morning I was reviewing the 60+ Lotusphere 2009 Best Practices track submissions posted on IdeaJam and noticed one glaring omission - a session on Lotus Notes 8 Composite Application development. I know that these sessions only represent a fraction of the thousands that get submitted but you would think that all of the work that has gone into the Eclipse based Notes 8 client you would see more session abstracts on this topic.
