Can anyone cite a successful (large) migration of Notes to Exchange in Australia ?
Fri, May 18th 2012 12:24a   Adam Osborne
I am aware of a large number of migrations over the last 3 years, but the striking feature in all of them is Domino is still active and running. In some cases Notes clients are still on all the desktops running apps. In just about all cases the TCO has increased and so has complexity. I wonder why the IT media or analysts never talk about this ? I suppose it is just not trendy. Anyway if you have a glowing example let it be known. Excel files change even when you don't save changes.
Fri, Apr 27th 2012 4:04a   Adam Osborne
It appears that Excel changes a file even if you don't save changes. It appears to update information on the last person that read the file... very odd. Why do I mention this ? Because it effects single instancing... DAOS and Preemptive Vault Attachment storage.... just something to keep in mind. [read] Keywords: blogger

Another customer reports a 50% reduction in Domino Backup times
Tue, Apr 3rd 2012 12:03a   Adam Osborne
We just got back from AusLUG and got a nice email from one of our customers reporting a 50% reduction in backup times. All they did is install Defrag.NSF and run with the default settings. It's also pleasing to get yet more confirmation of the benefits our soluton offers. And yes, it was a Virtual Server connected to an iSCSI Enterprise class SAN (more on that later) For more information on Defrag.NSF go here [read] Keywords: domino blogger email enterprise server
