Friday = Notes 8 day, Monday = Yellow day
A few weeks ago, Alan suggested that Monday, 11 August should be "Yellow day", in honor of all the excitement going on around Lotus right now. Never one to shy away from a good idea, Nathan Freeman and the rest of the Lotus911 crew jumped right on that. Thus, Monday has been designated "Yellow day"which is great. Check out some of the ideas for how to celebrate at the above link to Nathan's blog... I'm sure we'll see some creative happenings on Monday.
However, at lunch yesterday, David Via from my team came up with another great idea. Among the many small things happening tomorrow, 8.8.08 should also be "Notes 8 day" ... so, in honor of 8.8.08, be sure to deploy at least one Notes 8 client on 8.8.08!!!
Location: Highland Park, IL USA
Somebody should tell the development team to aim for a 09.09.09 release of Notes/Domino 9

11aug2008 we can get. It is 11/08/2008 that confuses us.
My son is in the service... I have a Red Shirt, now I need yellow pant, won't that look great... LOL
@2 & 5, that is EXACTLY why the graphic and the date in it are formatted the way they are.
Originally it was Y811ow, but then I realized that was a US-centric approach, and this was a global event. Plus, I could do something more interesting with the 8 as a substitute for "o" then I could substituting it for "e". And I wasn't about to suggest that we wait for either 31 Jan or 11 Mar to celebrate Y311ow Day. (Though I'll admit that Y3110wDay being on 31 Oct crossed my mind. What kind of Halloween costume would you wear in celebration of Lotus?)
Lotus halloween cosutmes:
Bill Gates with arrow through head (think Steve Martin if you're old enough)
Notes/Domino logo (get a freind, and wear an orange trash bag like a 3-legged sack race)
Dye your hair yellow and go as nathan ;-)

Our r8 deployment started today. 70 users were Smartupgrade enabled, so they could upgrade at their leisure. 35 did the upgrade today, with only one minor template issue(user template didn't upgrade per the policy).
Aside from the usual HDI questions, it went smoothly.
