This is no reason to be embarrassed. Assuming the algorithm is valid (and I'm not really sure it is), it just means you're avoiding overly complex words and sentence structures. This is a good thing when writing for a broad audience.

Yeah, it's all in good fun. A political blog I used to maintain gets a "genius" score somehow.
As I said to Richard at my blog, technical blogs should probably at more general reading levels to accurately and concisely get across your point. For all of this year, there has been no "techie" content at my blogspot blog...sd
