PermaLink I just need to get this off my chest
APBastardLaugh.gifAn important legal precedent was set the other day.

"Lord Justice Hughes, Mr Justice Treacy and Sir Paul Cresswell ruled that a man's bare torso did not count as 'private parts'.

"The 2003 Sexual Offences Act specifies that 'private parts' must be exposed for voyeurism to have taken place."

Presumably the same thing applies to indecent exposure.

This, in turn, seems to suggest that men may legally take off their shirts in public without fear of prosecution.

I hope this doesn't lead to yet a further decline in standards of public behaviour, though I fear it may.

Just remember - many activities are lawful but that doesn't make them right.

Chris,

I can't see a problem personally, seems to me that repression doesn't help in the long term. Other European countries with more liberal, less repressed attitudes it seems have fewer problems in this area.

If we weren't taught to be ashamed of our bodies, i.e. it's not right to see bare flesh perhaps we'd have more mature attitudes in other areas of our lives (drinking for example).

So Women's torsos are considered private parts, what about trannsexuals that are legally male but look female, I wonder what the legality is there?

You took of man boobs has me wondering, is this why your favicon for this site is a nipple?

Oh my! and I'm the repressed one?

That's no nipple. It is the wheel of my first and favourite car which you will see in the picture at the top, left corner of this site as well as here, slightly larger.

@3, you're the one talking abut "scanning trannies" in that post. I don't want to know what that involves, but it sounds filthy!

indecent exposure no longer exists as a valid offence - it was removed from the books as part of the implementation of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Thanks, Mike.
