*Sigh* I wonder if we'll ever get to see "The Hobbit" on the big screen.
Or not, as the case may be.
The Tolkien estate is suing New Line Cinema for damages. Allegedly, New Line haven't paid the Tolkien Estate a penny from the $3bn (or so) profit from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. (Shame on them if they haven't!)
The plaintiffs seek more than $150 million in compensatory damages, unspecified punitive damages and a court order giving the Tolkien estate the right to terminate any rights New Line may have to make films based on other works by the author, including “The Hobbit”
